Change in Insurance Rates State actuary testified at a Dept. of Insurance hearing in July 2005 that Medical Mutual Insurance had increased liability rates by 80% since January of 1999 with two other insurers raising rates more than 30 percent. AMA reports at least one insurer raised rates as much as 25 to 40% in 2004.
